FLYDUBAI UPDATES SAFETY CARD TO INCLUDE 'IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT YOUR CO-PILOT ATTACKS YOU'
Airline adds new seatback diagram between flotation device instructions and emergency exit rows.
FlyDubai announced Tuesday it is revising its in-flight safety materials following a cockpit incident in which passengers and an injured captain subdued a co-pilot mid-flight, confirming that the updated laminated card will now feature a seventh panel titled 'Inter-Cockpit Disagreement Resolution,' illustrated with a calm stick figure gently tapping another stick figure holding a knife while pointing toward the fasten-seatbelt sign.
The new briefing video reportedly freezes on that exact frame for several seconds so passengers can commit the gesture to memory, with narration clarifying that bonus miles are now available for 'incident participation,' redeemable toward a future flight passengers will be visibly nervous about boarding. 'We train for bird strikes, dual-engine failure, and now inter-cockpit disagreement resolution,' said airline safety consultant Greg Halloway. 'The hierarchy is simple: whoever isn't currently being stabbed flies the plane.'
Industry analysts say the move sets a new global standard for cockpit security, described internally as 'vibes, plus whoever's closest to the stabbing.' A spokesperson added that passengers seated in the first three rows will henceforth be briefed as 'auxiliary crew' before takeoff, and that the seatback card's flotation-device diagram has been quietly updated to note that, in a pinch, the co-pilot may also function as one.
