Iranian officials confirmed Tuesday that a shipping arrangement with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz is nearly finalized, with traffic lanes drawn and buoys allegedly repainted a 'welcoming but noncommittal' shade of yellow. A leaked rider to the reopening ceremony reportedly requires the ribbon itself to remain locked in a secure Omani warehouse until the United States 'corrects its tone,' with a second, smaller ribbon available for viewing but not cutting.
Global oil markets, meanwhile, have been placed in what analysts are calling the Holding Pattern of Diplomatic Disappointment, a nautical waiting room where roughly 200 tankers now circle slowly while diplomats workshop the wording of an apology note. Energy traders describe the mood as 'co-op board meeting, but with aircraft carriers.' As of press time, the fob has not been reactivated, the checkout lane remains closed, and the store's hours are listed simply as 'depends on how you say sorry.'
