WALL STREET DISCOVERS RACCOONS, PROMPTLY RUINS THEM
A viral Seattle raccoon's meme coin success has triggered a species-wide securitization event nobody asked for.
Financial analysts confirmed Tuesday that every raccoon in North America now possesses a ticker symbol, a nine-page whitepaper, and, in most cases, a 'strong and growing community' that will evaporate by Thursday. What began as one uniquely shaped Seattle raccoon becoming an internet celebrity has metastasized into what industry insiders are calling 'the raccoon meta,' a phrase that means absolutely nothing but has already attracted several hundred million dollars of extremely confident money.
Marla Vance, still of Degenerate Capital Partners, urged caution. 'Due diligence now means confirming the raccoon is real, alive, and not already rugged under three prior tickers,' Vance said. 'Most fail at least two of those.' Vance's firm nonetheless just launched a Raccoon Meta Index ETF boasting 47 holdings, 31 of which are, upon inspection, the same raccoon photographed from different angles by someone who clearly does not trust raccoons to hold still. The fund's prospectus lists 'raccoon vibes' under risk factors.
Meanwhile the rival Rigby the Raccoon token has rug-pulled twice, a feat its holders describe as 'building resilience.' TrustUs News reached out to Rigby for comment. Rigby, unlike his investors, declined. Anchorman Ron Rugundy closed the segment grim-faced. 'I'm not going to sugarcoat this,' he said. 'I don't know how. I also don't know what a blockchain is, but I do know that raccoon did not consent to being an asset class, and frankly, neither did the rest of us.'
